I'm Getting Smart Today

I'm off to a writer's conference today - just a one-day thing, but it should be interesting. I'm taking one session on "Teaching War Through Literature" (for the English teacher in me) and one session on "Promotion and Marketing Your Book" (for, you know, obvious reasons).

Hope to have some good stuff to share with you tomorrow!

Have fun! And, yeah... learn lots and share. We could all use a little education *G*

Oh, looks fantastic. I'd love to hear the Swofford talk.

I know there's this huge focus on WWII, but there's also so much out there on WWI, and so much that happened because of it that's still relevant today (okay, so I've been doing a little research into it).

Have fun. Can't wait to hear about it.

Just thought of this. If you're interested in the teaching aspect, you might enjoy Soldier's Heart: Reading Literature Through Peace and War at West Point by Elizabeth D. Samet.

I'm reading it now and it's very interesting.

I hope you're having a blast! I just got back from my local chapter meeting. There's nothing like being surrounded by other writers to really get the inspiration flowing!
