106 Most Unread Books

This is a book meme going around right now. I got it from Books, Memes, and Musings.

These are the top 106 books most often marked as “unread” by LibraryThing’s users. Bold what you have read, italicize books you’ve started but couldn’t finish, and strike through books you hated. Add an asterisk* to those you’ve read more than once. Underline those on your TBR (To Be Read) list.

And yes, I was an English major in college (as if you couldn't tell!) I rarely put books down without finishing them, but there's a couple here I just had to. I've read 36 of the 106, only about 30%. Wonder if there's a reason why they're the most unread??

Some of these are surprising - the most surprising is Atlas Shrugged. Put Mists of Avalon on top of your TBR pile - puts a whole new twist of the Arthur legend. I loved it. Liz

I wondered the same thing. I noticed that there weren't many sci fi or mystery on the unread list. I see you couldn't finish Life of Pi. I've got it on my TBR list. We'll see what happens.

Wahoo! Something to post about tomorrow... it might be embarassing. Have a great weekend!

Say, I'll do this one!

But some of them are rather new. I wonder if they should have given more time before adding them to the list?

I did the list too. Here's mine. :)

Hi Allie, I like Life of Pi a lot. Am also an animal softie and yes, the scenes where they start tearing each other apart got to me too. I was like OMG, not the orang utan too... :( I said silent prayers for the poor things and moved on. It's an interesting book and I must say one of its kind. When I run out of stuff to read (highly unlikely) I'll definitely re-read Pi. Maybe you can skip the animal cruelty part and read on?... Just a thought. :)
