Three Links You Should Visit Today

"Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about little puppies." ~Gene Hill

Just a quickie today (well, no, not that kind of quickie, though hey, your imagination can go where it wants to...and as a matter of fact, yesterday I wrote the first kiss scene for One Night in Napa and ~ yummy! But I digress...)

Three links for you to visit today:

1. The Wild Rose Press April Newsletter - They did a really nice job, I think. Love the whole layout and design. And a little side news: I just found out that my novel with them, Lost in Paradise, releases in print on May 23! I don't think you can pre-order that one, but I'll definitely let you know when it's available.

2. The Long and the Short of It - This review site is giving away a book every single day this month! All you have to do is comment.

3. Oprah's April 4 Show on Buying Puppies - This one has nothing to do with writing, but it's a good effort to raise awareness about puppy mills and how awful they really are. Her show this Friday is devoted to exposing these mills!

Have a great day - I'm off to heat up the action from that first kiss in One Night in Napa (31K words and counting!)

Thanks for the links, Allie! Let me know when "Lost in Paradise" is available. I still have the copy I printed on my laser printer from when I reviewed it, but it's not pretty on my shelf like my books are!!! Hope you had fun finishing the kissing scene.

I'm looking forward to the print release of Lost in Paradise. I'm putting that date in my calendar.

Kudos to the 31,000 word count. How many words have you written a day, on average, for this story?

Hmmm... Puppies aren't all the happiness they're cracked up to be -- speaking from experience (and from being awakened every night at 1 a.m. for the past four months). LOL...

But, yeah... Puppy mills. Ugh. I want to tape that show, but CRUD, our TV will be offline on Friday while we do the floors. Dang, dang, dang...

Congrats on Lost! And Napa! And kiss scenes!

!!

As a new dog-mom, I don't think I could stand to watch that Oprah show--heartbreaking. And yes, I agree with Marianne--not all wags and fun. It can't help when puppies come from such a bad environment.

Congrats on your word count. I only wrote 300 words yesterday. Hoping today will be better.

Looking forward to reading "Lost in Paradise" sometime soon.

Best wishes and Congratulations on your two books! Sounds like you are on a direct path! I can't watch shows like Oprah's. My brother was a veterinarian and I saw my share of what people can do with their animals! I used to love hearing him tell them off.....Cindi

Good question, Dru. I started at the beginning of March, so I'd say I averaged about 1000 words/day, though I didn't write every day. I can do anywhere from 500-1000 words/hour when I'm in the groove; it's just a matter of finding an hour (at least!) each day to write.
